About Us

​Mike Dunn

Mike has over 30 years of financial management, accounting, and operations experience, including over a decade working with charter schools and non-profit organizations.  Before DFS, he was CFO for KIPP New Orleans Schools and for Outward Bound USA.  Mike has a BS in Accounting and MBA in Finance from the University of Connecticut.  He also holds a Connecticut CPA certificate, is a Certified Global Management Accountant (CGMA), and also a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountant's Not-For-Profit Section. ​

Dunn Financial Solutions (DFS) began when we realized many charter schools and non-profit organizations: 1) were not able to hire affordable & experienced financial professionals, or 2) chose to focus their staff resources on program delivery as opposed to administrative functions such as finance.

​Javonda Mickens

Javonda has over 20 years accounting experience including roles as Director of Finance and Payroll Supervisor.  Her experience includes work in charter schools and for-profit organizations.  Javonda has a BS in Accounting from the University of New Orleans. ​
